I had been unemployed for some time when a friend who was already working with Intelligent Umbrella told me about a job that I might be suited for. I contacted Intelligent Umbrella and working with my friend, they played an active role in helping me get the contract. Since then, they have been great. They worked with the job centre and partner organisations to get me an employment incentive bonus after 13 weeks and as this contract is coming to an end, they have stepped in again, working to help find me a new position.

I have never know Intelligent Umbrella’s phones ring more than three or four times before they’re answered and somehow my account manager always seems to be available to talk to me whenever I call. On the odd occasion he has been engaged, he’s called me back within minutes. In the current employment climate, people need to change their attitude a little and be grateful to have work. To have people in an organisation working with you and treating you with care and respect is a bonus I really hadn’t expected.

I was reasonably happy with my previous umbrella company and only really came to work through Intelligent Umbrella because the client I went to work for asked me to use them. I thought it would be a minor inconvenience so I contacted Intelligent Umbrella to sign up.

I was genuinely surprised by the response when I called. The contact I spoke to there, covered every aspect that I wanted to talk about on the phone and within minutes of the end of the call I had my on-line joining instructions, contract and everything else I needed. The sign up process was simple and the service exceptional. Working with Intelligent Umbrella, I have begun to realise the risks I was running with my previous umbrella company who were allowing me to claim unsubstantiated expenses and putting me at risk of being accused of tax fraud. Intelligent Umbrella do a superb job for me, providing the advice and guidance I need to maximise my earnings, without pulling the wool over anyone’s eyes.

I would also note that the contact that I first spoke to, still maintains contact with me. He has personally taken all but one of my calls and treats me like a trusted friend and a customer, not like an inconvenience. I recently forgot to add a time sheet and he was obviously monitoring the situation. As the deadline for completion approached, he phoned me up, took my details and entered my time sheet for me to ensure that I got paid. I did this with my previous company once.... It just went quiet and I missed a week’s pay.

All in all, ten out of ten for service, capability and advice. I can’t imagine another umbrella company offering me anything that would make me want to move.
